There is a storm in the work of PhoenixValley, who is well known as a Horse Artist. He drives storms hard, but has not lost its elegance. Although some people are new to his work, no one who has encountered his work forgot the color he has embodied. PhoenixValley Artist’s work is strongly attracted to the extent that there are fans who have been thinking about where they can place his work every time they move their home for four years.
[Phoenix Valley Exhibition], which started in May, is exhibited in two places, Pangyo and Mapo, and exhibits at Gallery Choi in Mapo and KC Art Space in Pangyo. This is his 27th exhibition, and both exhibitions held simultaneously are both solo exhibitions. The exhibition has started and is expected to continue until early June.
PhoenixValley’s paintings are constantly changing, but the colors moving in his works remain unchanged. The harmony of colors and the rough movement of the brush, which became his identity, draw its popularity to the point that it is popular in China.
With the belief that color can heal humans, PhoenixValley has been working with horses and portrait for 11 years. He graduated from the Department of Western Painting at the Hongik University of Fine Arts. He worked on his artwork at the same time while teaching paintings to students, and because he thought that he could live as an artist at any time it took some time to choose the life of a full-time artist.
The Birth of Creation
He said that when inspiration or shape does not come to mind, he starts without a plan. Some scenes are created by rubbing paints on the canvas, crushing them with a knife and repeating undirected hand movements. Then he breathes energy into the shape that came into it. The energy creates an unspoken story, and his work is created by touch or texture that has spread in many branches. It is said that through this method, which is one of the many techniques he uses, many unplanned masterpieces were created and he was able to move forward without confronting the wall of creation.
“I try to feel the energy that it has, rather than seeing what is outside of a person or a horse.” PhoenixValley’s thoughts are also evident through his works. The fluttering energy is expressed in a sense of tension in his work, and the harmony of the colors captures the energy of the subject in the work.
He said he hopes that the belief that the color can heal human souls and change humans will also be expressed through Sole-X and the NFT project.
